Welcome to Muse Inspired fashion! Through our commitment, experience, and expertise, MUSE Inspired Fashions has established a relationship with our customers that combines stylist, friend and personal assistant.
Founded in 2003 by Lisa Doss, Muse Inspired Fashion quickly became a staple for locals in Memphis and a destination for tourists. By 2006, Muse had expanded to include a boutique in the heart of the French Quarter inNew Orleans, Louisiana! As new opportunities arose, Lisa’s husband, Steve Doss, joined the company in 2008 and a third location in Nashville, Tennessee came to fruition in 2011. Muse now thrives as a destination for movie stars, athletes, musicians and tourists traveling “The Music Triangle”.
Through the years, Muse has been mentioned in Glamour, Air France and Northwest Airlines In-flight magazines, and was featured in Southern Living. In 2008, Memphian, Gina Neely wore a Virgin Saints and Angels necklace on the Food Network show, Down Home with the Neely’s, and created an instant following for the jewelry at Muse. From that moment on, VSA jewelry has been a staple item in all the Muse boutiques.
Lisa has appeared on B. Smith with Style, MTV’s Made, and Ambush Makeover. She has worked with stylists for Martina McBride and Reese Witherspoon and personally assisted Joaquim Phoenix, Samuel L. Jackson, and Christina Ricci and many others.
Muse Inspired Fashion has always provided unique, one of a kind items but they have recently become noteworthy for their Men’s Jackets. The brocade jackets and sequin jackets are most popular around Mardi Gras for black tie events in New Orleans but men from Texas and Tennessee like to wear them with jeans and a T-Shirt. Musicians from around the world wear them for stage including Jazz pianist, Davell Crawford. Fodor’s travel guide lists Muse Inspired Fashion as one of the best places to shop for men’s seersucker jackets.
Through their commitment, experience, and expertise, Muse Inspired Fashion has established a relationship with their customers that combines stylist, friend and personal assistant.
Step into MUSE, Inspired Fashion, and you may think you’ve wandered into a New York or L.A. boutique. The clothes and accessories are cutting edge, the displays creative, and the atmosphere artsy. A love of fashion led owner Lisa Doss to open MUSE six years ago in the South Main Historic Arts District. “This has always been my passion,” the Memphis native says. “I got a degree in public relations from The University of Tennessee mainly so I could do PR for a fashion institute or plan fashion shows.” Lisa now combs the major apparel markets as well as smaller markets and shops, searching out fashion-forward clothing for men and women that Memphians won’t find elsewhere in town.
